Loving Arms Child Care and Preschool History
In 1994 LaFarris Risby established Loving Arms as a licensed daycare in her home, caring for up to 10 children. She had been a single, working mother and knew first hand how difficult it could be to find quality, reliable and affordable child care.
As LaFarris loved working with children and had been doing so in one way or another, both formally and informally, all of her life, becoming a full-time child care provider was a natural decision. She committed to furthering her education and implementing the best practices in order to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment. Within five years, she was able to move into a separate facility and transition into being a licensed daycare center with 10 staff members and 37 children.
Throughout her experience providing child care, she began to realize the need to provide a more complete range of family support services. Some parents needed help with budgeting, time-management, parenting or managing the day-to-day stresses of life. LaFarris began to envision a facility that would accommodate all of these needs and services.
In 2005 that vision was realized with the opening of Loving Arms Child Care & Preschool Center and Loving Arms Learning Center - our new 9,000 sq. ft., three-level facility which houses our child care and family support training and education offices.
It is the focus of Loving Arms Learning Center to continue providing a full range of services that encourage and support healthy, happy and balanced families.
