Letter from LaFarris Risby, CFLE, Executive Director

Welcome to Loving Arms Learning Center’s Child Care & Preschool! We understand that choosing a child care provider is an important and difficult decision, and we appreciate that you have chosen to trust us with the care and education of your child at such a critical stage of his or her life.

Back in 1994: I was a single, working mother who knew first-hand how difficult it can be to find quality, reliable, affordable childcare. I established Loving Arms as a licensed daycare in my home, caring for up to 10 children. I have always loved working with children and had been doing so in one way or another most of my life; so becoming a full-time child care provider was a natural decision.

I committed myself to furthering my education and implementing the best practices in order to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children in my care. Within five years, I found it necessary to move to a larger facility. Loving Arms now had 10 staff members caring for 37 children.

Throughout my experience providing child care, I have witnessed the urgent need of a complete range of family support services. Some of my parents needed help with budgeting, time-management, parenting or managing the day-to-day stresses of life.

I began to envision a facility that would accommodate all of these needs and services. In 2005 that vision was realized with the opening of Loving Arms Learning Center, our 9,000 square foot., three-level facility which houses our Child Care, Preschool and Family Support Training and Professional Development Education Offices.

My staff and I are committed to providing quality early childhood education, loving, compassionate care and a nurturing environment. Our main focus is meeting the needs of the children and their families.

It is our aim to continue to provide a full range of services that will support a healthy, happy and balanced family.
